My Husband’s Wife by Alice Feeney is a fast-paced thriller where a woman comes home from a run to find a stranger pretending to be her.
I was BEYOND excited to get My Husband’s Wife audiobook from NetGalley last month and couldn’t wait to start it. I’m a big Alice Feeney fan, and I love psychological thrillers. This book didn’t disappoint! From the opening scene, I knew this audiobook was different. Not only do you hear background side effects, like footsteps on a run or doors opening, but the way the narrator brings you into the story is intense. This book grabs you from the opening and doesn’t let go until the final sentence. If you are looking for a great book to start your year off right, you need to check out this book!

Synopsis from Amazon
Eden Fox, an artist on the brink of her big break, sets off for a run before her first exhibition. When she returns to the home she recently moved into, Spyglass, an enchanting old house in Hope Falls, nothing is as it should be. Her key doesn’t fit. A woman, eerily similar to her, answers the door. And her husband insists that the stranger is his wife.
One house. One husband. Two women. Someone is lying.
Six months earlier, a reclusive Londoner called Birdy, reeling from a life-changing diagnosis, inherits Spyglass. This unexpected gift from a long-lost grandmother brings her to the pretty seaside village of Hope Falls. But then Birdy stumbles upon a shadowy London clinic that claims to be able to predict a person’s date of death, including her own. Secrets start to unravel, and as the line between truth and lies blurs, Birdy feels compelled to right some old wrongs.
My Husband’s Wife is a tangled web of deception, obsession, and mystery that will keep you guessing until the last page. Prepare yourself for the ultimate mind-bending marriage thriller and step inside Spyglass – if you dare – to experience a story where nothing is as it seems.

My Review of My Husband’s Wife
First, I would like to thank Alice Feeney, NetGalley, and Macmillan Audio for providing me with an advanced listening copy of My Husband’s Wife in exchange for my honest review. It was such a great experience. I have never listened to a book that felt so immersive.
If you have a chance to listen to this audiobook, you should take it. The way this book opens with Eden going on a run, and you can hear her footsteps and breathing, was top-notch. I love the way this listening experience felt like listening to a movie or show. Plus, I appreciate the different voices for the different characters.
Secondly, I had no idea who to trust in this book. Was Eden an unreliable narrator? If she really is Eden Fox, then who is the other woman? It took me until I was almost done with the book to realize what was going on and who was lying. Which makes the best thriller books!
My Husband’s Wife is full of twists and turns, a classic Alice Feeney move, and will leave you guessing until the end. Feeney writes women on the verge of a breakdown so well. Giving this book 5 stars was a no-brainer for me.
Lastly, this book is perfect for anyone who enjoys fast-paced psychological thrillers that make you question everything and everyone. It’s great for anyone who loves a good plot twist, or two. Perfect for a cold weekend, cuddling up with a warm drink and this thriller.
