Are you an avid reader? Check out these great bookish essentials for anyone who loves to spend their time curled up with a good book.
If you were to ask me what my hobbies are, I would probably tell you they’re reading books, listening to books, and talking about books. I love reading like most people love eating chocolate. It fills my soul in a way I can’t explain. So, as an avid book reader, I’m qualified to tell you the bookish essentials you need if you enjoy reading books. This list is perfect for avid readers and people who are just starting to get back into reading. I hope you enjoy this list!

Bookish Essentials For Kindle Readers
- Paper White Kindle– If you are a reader who loves reading on the go but hates carrying around a bunch of books, then you need to get a Kindle. It’s lightweight and makes travel easier. This Kindle is waterproof, perfect for reading by the pool or on a beach. It also has a night mode, which is great for nighttime reading without hurting your eyes. Definitely number one on my list of bookish essentials.
- Kindle Holder for Bed– I was given one of these by a friend of mine recently, and I can’t believe I’ve read in bed with my Kindle and haven’t used this. It makes bedtime reading so much easier. You just attach the holder to your bed and then attach the Kindle to it. Then you can read in your bed without dropping your Kindle when you fall asleep.
- Remote Page Turner– This is great for avid readers who enjoy doing something while reading on the Kindle. You can make a craft or eat a snack while reading. Then you just press a button to turn the page. It’s really cool!

Bookish Essentials for Physical Books
- Book Light– I love this book for many reasons. It’s small, it radiates a bright light, it has different levels of brightness, and it can be recharged instead of using batteries. I love the variety of colors and how it’s perfect for travel. I’m a nighttime reader, and my husband goes to bed earlier. This light lets me read a physical book at night without keeping him awake.
- Book Sleeves– I love these super cute book sleeves because they protect my books when I’m out and about. Plus, they have pretty cool designs for every kind of fan. I love the way you can put a pen or other accessories in the front pocket.
- Page Holder– This is something I don’t use very often, but when I’m holding a book in one hand, I wish I had this page holder with me. If you are someone who reads a lot of physical books, you should check out this page holder. It makes holding a book easier, and you can find some pretty cute designs.
- TBR Cart– A few years ago, I saw a TBR cart on someone’s Instagram page, and I knew I needed it! I love adding books, book sleeves, bookmarks, and many other bookish things to my cart. Below is a picture of what my TBR cart currently looks like. I like using this cart because I can see all the books I have to read, and I decorated it with super cute stickers. If you have books you haven’t read just sitting in piles, you should get yourself a cart to store them in.

Other Bookish Essentials
- Tabs for Note-Taking-– If you are someone who likes to highlight books or make notations on a page, these tabs for note-taking are perfect for you! You can find many different colors to match the cover of the book you are reading. Some people assign different meanings to the colors they use to mark certain pages. I’m not a big note taker but it’s something I want to try to get into.
- Stamp– This is something my husband got me for Christmas a few years ago, and I love it. I stamp almost every book I own and ones I want to keep on my shelves. There are many different stamps that you can have customized and made your own. Below, I added a photo of my stamp and what it looks like on the page.
- Book Journal– I love my book journal! You can find many different versions of a book journal and find one that works for you. I like this version because it has many different challenges that I try to complete. It’s nice to recap the books I read each month and what I rated the books I read.
