Well, what can I say about August 2024? It was an incredible reading month for me! Also, I accomplished a lot of the goals I set for myself AND I got more views in August on this blog than I ever had before. All this hard work and holding myself accountable is starting to show.

I’m going to take a minute here and praise myself. I’m so proud of all the hard work I did this month and how I focused on crushing my goals and focused on my family and myself. What can I say? I’m doing pretty good. (Alright tooting my horn time is over!)

Books I Read in August 2024

Let me start this section off by saying that I typically read about 10 books a month by my highest being 13 books in one month. I’m blown away with the fact that I read 17 books in August 2024. 17 BOOKS! It’s an insane amount of books and I’m going through a little bit of a reading crash. I just kept reading and consuming books this August. My brain is just a little burned out. I don’t expect to read as many in September.

August 2024 Blog Posts

My blogging goal for August 2024 was to publish four blog posts (one every Wednesday). I’m so proud of myself because I accomplished this goal. The older kids going back to school helped get my family back on schedule and I have a little bit of free time to blog. Here are the posts I published this August on the blog:

  1. 30 Days of Happiness Challenge (+ FREE Printable!)
  2. 40 Football Game Day Recipes You’ll Love!
  3. Six Fall Outdoor Activities To Keep Your Kids Active
  4. Ham and Cheese Sliders Recipe: Easy, Cheesy, and Delicious

Garden Check-In

Earlier this month I was a little worried about my garden. It seemed like only the cucumbers were thriving. Then as the month progressed the other plants came to life. This month we harvested 5 cucumbers, 4 strawberries, 4 orange peppers, a jalapeno pepper, and 7 tomatoes. I’m so proud of my little garden. The kids love checking to see if anything is ready to be picked. I’m just happy to have some fresh vegetables and fruit. Here’s a picture of JT with our strawberry plant:

September Goals

September is typically a busy month in my household. We have 3 birthdays in our family this month (Luke, Teddy, and Vivian.) and the boys are finishing their soccer season. Also, we are pretty excited because Vivian starts preschool this month and she’s ready for it! With that being said, I’m letting September be a lazier month than August. My goals are not as ambitious because I don’t want to set myself up to fail.

My goal for the blog is to publish 3 blog posts and send a newsletter to subscribers with every post that Friday. (Also, don’t forget to sign up for my newsletter!) My reading goal is to read at least 5 physical books this month. My life goal is to continue with my garden, celebrate the September birthdays, and participate in the 75 soft challenge with friends.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I think August 2024 was one of the best months I’ve had this year. I’m very proud of all the goals I accomplished, the garden growing, the reading I did, and I felt really good this month. I can’t wait to slow down a bit this next month and just enjoy my September. I hope you all have a great month!

Now it’s your turn to tell me how your August went. Did you accomplish the monthly goals you set for yourself? What worked and didn’t work this August 2024? What are your goals for September? Let me know in the comments below. I love hearing from all of you! Thanks for all the love and support. You’re the best!

Thanks for reading,

  1. Wow! You had a great August…good job! That’s awesome that you read so many books! The Wedding People sounds really good…I will be adding that to my TBR list. Our bookclub read Finding Me by Viola Davis this month. Not typically my genre, but I enjoyed it quite a bit! Glad to hear your garden is doing well also! Gardening is such a fun thing to do with the kiddos!

  2. Congrats on meeting your blogging goals. I have fell of the wagon and over the cliff when it comes to meeting my goals. But I haven’t given up. 17 books in one month is insanely incredible. Thanks you for the inspiration to read more and blog often.

  3. I have just recently started reading but all nonfiction so far. I want to read more fiction, but just have no idea where to even begin in picking out a book. I am going to check my library to see if any of the ones on this list are available. Thank you!

    1. If you are a thriller fan I would read The Housemaid, if you like women’s lit I would check out The Wedding People, and if you like historical fiction I would read The Women. I hope you enjoy!

  4. Glad you had an awesome August 😍, for me i read 20 books is August and it was a very average month for me in terms for star ratings but I am so proud of my self for reading 20 books in the month of August 😍 and by the way your blog layout is so beautiful
