This butterfly craft is a great spring activity for kids when the weather is good and they need a simple, fun craft.

There’s nothing I love more than when Spring finally comes! It means that summer is on it’s way. The only downside to spring is all the rain. If you are looking for a simple and fun spring craft to make on rainy days, check out this butterfly craft.

Warning: Your child will want to make a BUNCH of these butterflies! So be ready to have many butterflies when you are done.

How To Make This Butterfly Craft

  1. First color any design on the coffee filter. Tip: Use bright colors and various colors to make butterflies POP!
  2. Fill a spray bottle with water. Spray the coffee filter with the water. Make sure you spray the whole design.
  3. Let the coffee filter fully dry.
  4. Fold the coffee filter in an accordion fold or fan fold. Next, use the clothespin to secure the filter in the middle.
  5. Adjust the filter to make it look like butterfly wings.
  6. Open the clothespin to put the pipe cleaner in the middle. Then wrap the ends of the pipe cleaner to look like antennae.
  7. The butterfly craft is all done! Now, start over from the beginning to make more butterflies.
