Clean Point by Meg Jones is an enemies-to-lovers sports romance novel that will keep you on your toes and have you saying “game, set, match”.

Clean Point by Meg Jones is one of the best sports romance books I have listened to in a while. The storyline is intense and filled with revenge. Scottie and Nico are perfect for each other on and off the court. Their banter is like listening to a tennis match. Also, they have the type of chemistry that could start a fire! I hope you enjoy my review and this book.

Synopsis From Amazon

Former tennis prodigy Scottie Sinclair is a cheat.

Or at least, that’s what the world thinks. After all, who would believe she was secretly drugged by her own father before winning the women’s singles title at Wimbledon?

The tabloids have called “Game, Set, Match” on Scottie’s career—but an offer at redemption, and more importantly revenge, may give her the chance at a clean serve.

Nico Kotas reigned the tennis world for almost a decade—until an injury took him from the baseline.

Now with a clean bill of health, he’s hungry for one last title. But his public image needs a new game plan—and according to his coach, his former rival’s daughter is the perfect advantage.

But with old enemies on the sidelines, scandal is seconds away.

Because, after all, revenge is best served Centre Court.

My Review of Clean Point

Thank you NetGalley and HarperAudio for this ARC. I listened to Clean Point and I really enjoyed it! 4 Stars!

The two main characters in this story are fire together. Whether they rage at each other from their first meeting to the heat they bring into the bedroom, it’s all fire! The tension between Scottie and Nico is perfect. The way the characters develop throughout the book is great. You will root for these characters to win their tennis matches (even if you have no real concepts of the sport). It is a bit of a slow-burn romance in the best way!

I listened to this book and I can say that the sex scenes were the perfect amount without being “too much” that I had to fast forward. Also, I really enjoyed the male narrator’s voice (Patrick Zeller).

Just because I’m focusing on the love aspect doesn’t mean this book’s plot is bad. The plotline and story are very intriguing. You’ll want Scottie to get her revenge on her father and win everything!

Each chapter opens with a song title. I can’t wait to check out these songs and add another layer to this novel.

Lastly, I really enjoyed the banter of these two characters and I’m so excited to see there will be a second book with a side character getting their love story.

Who I Recommend This Book To

If you like the enemies-to-lovers trope, then you will enjoy this book. This is an open door romance meaning that there are some sex scenes with details. These scenes were not detailed enough to make me uncomfortable and not overdone. This is a slow-burn romance. Lastly, There is a bit of an age gap (23F/33M) if you like that too.

If those things intrigue you then you should check out this book. I enjoyed the voices of both narrators.

There are a few triggers that I need to address. The book does a good job of pointing them out at the beginning too. There is abusive father/coach, drug use, eating disorders, slut shaming, and sexual harassment.

Also, if you are following my monthly reading challenge then you know that March’s choice is a sports-themed romance. This book definitely fits the bill! If you want more information on the reading challenge, check out the post: 2025 Monthly Reading Challenge (+ Free Printable!)
