Game Point by Meg Jones is a sports romance with a friends-to-lovers trope. You’ll enjoy Oliver and Dylan’s love story. It’s game, set, match!
Last year, I read Clean Point by Meg Jones and fell in love with her writing. She can create tennis matches that are intense and you feel like you’re there. When I was offered the opportunity to review the second book, Game Point, I jumped at the chance. Meg Jones does it again! She writes incredible tennis love stories that will make you swoon with spicy love scenes. I hope you enjoy this review!

Synopsis from Amazon
In the aftermath of Dylan Bailey’s tenth Grand Slam loss, she decides to put her racket away for good. Until a tempting bet from fellow pro Oliver Anderson convinces her to give it one last shot.
If she sticks it out, and still loses the next tournament, she takes home his US Open Trophy, and is free to walk away from the sport forever. To sweeten the deal, Oliver proposes a twist—he’ll swap his racket for a whistle and coach Dylan in the months leading up to the Australian Open.
After all, with the solid friendship they’ve built, surely working together could score a game point.
They just need to keep their eyes on the ball and ignore their sizzling tension.
As Oliver and Dylan navigate the unpredictable court, they rediscover their love for the sport, but the feelings they share could complicate things. With the world watching their every move, they must ensure their partnership stays on-court.
But as the lines between coach and player blur, especially in a sport where every detail is scrutinized, keeping their feelings in check may be their toughest match yet.

My Review of Game Point
First, thank you to NetGalley, Meg Jones, Avon, and Harper Voyager for this advanced reading copy of Game Point. I loved reading Dylan and Oliver’s love story!
Meg Jones does it again! I’m a huge fan of sports romance, and Meg Jones writes incredible tennis love stories. The spicy scenes are well done, not over the top, and make sense with the plot. I loved the features of Nico and Scottie (love interest from the first book) throughout this book.
A trope I really enjoy is the grumpy/sunshine dynamic, and Game Point embodies this trope. It is really well done because Dylan is the grumpy one, and Oliver is the sunshine. It’s not often that women are the “grumpy” ones. But I really enjoyed the gender reversal.
I loved the strong and determined nature of Dylan and her relationship with her family. There’s a conversation she has with her mother that is perfection. Sometimes, mothers know their children better than anyone else.
Oliver was a little harder for me to wrap my head around. There was a moment with him that seemed to come out of nowhere. It was a good representation but I didn’t see it earlier in the book, so it felt random.
One thing I really appreciated about Game Point was no third-act breakup or miscommunication. Those two are tropes I tend to struggle with.
Lastly, the writing during the tennis matches is top-tier. I felt like I was watching a tennis match. I could see everything as it was happening.
Game Point is a great book to read if you want a good sports romance book about tennis with two flawed characters who support and care for each other on and off the court.
