Books I Read in January 2025

If you remember the 2025 goals I shared in December, I set a goal of reading 150 books this year. I read 13 books this month and I’m right on track to accomplish my reading goal. Another goal of mine was to complete my 2025 Monthly Reading Challenge (+ Free Printable!). The challenge for January was to read a self-help book. The book I chose to read was Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before? by Julie Smith.

  • Work In Progress by Kat Mackenzie (Review here: Work In Progress by Kat Mackenzie Book Review)
  • How To Talk So Little Kids Will Listen by Joanna Faber and Julie King
  • Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before? by Julie Smith
  • Book Lovers by Emily Henry
  • When We Grow Up by Angelica Baker (Review here: When We Grow Up by Angelica Baker Book Review)
  • The Third Gilmore Girl by Kelly Bishop
  • The Senator’s Wife by Liv Constantine
  • Jack & Jill by James Patterson
  • Is She Really Going Out With Him? by Sophie Cousens
  • Drop Dead Sisters by Amelia Diane Coombs
  • Clean Point by Meg Jones
  • Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney
  • Keep Your Friends Close by Lucinda Berry

Mt top book of January 2025 is Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney. It is a twisted story that will leave you guessing until the end!

I stopped using Goodreads and will only use it to publish reviews. You can check out my Story graph to stay updated on what I’m reading: https://app.thestorygraph.com/profile/kellykrebs50

Blog Post I Published in January 2025

My main blogging goal for 2025 is to publish 52 blog posts. January was an excellent first month for blogging because I published 5 posts. This is one more than I planned. I even took some time off the first week of January to give myself a little break. Here are the awesome blog posts I published this month:

  1. To Sicily With Love by Jennifer Probst NetGalley Book Review
  2. Caprese Avocado Toast: A Simple and Healthy Breakfast Recipe
  3. Work In Progress by Kat Mackenzie Book Review
  4. Battle of the Books: My Top Book of 2024
  5. Honey Garlic Chicken Bites: A Quick and Easy Dinner Recipe

The most viewed blog post of January 2025 was Loaded Baked Potato Soup: A Delicious and Easy Crockpot Recipe. This recipe is amazing and I’m not surprised that it continues to be the most viewed blog post again and again.

Lastly. I had a goal to get 150 email subscribers in 2025. You guys have blown me away! I now have 380 subscribers! This is incredible! Thank you so much if you have subscribed to my blog. I hope you enjoy the weekly emails updated you on all my new blog posts. My new goal for 2025 is to get 500 subscribers.

Random Happenings in January

January was filled with some good times and some not-so-good times. It seems like January is the month of my kids getting sick. Thankfully, it wasn’t anything too serious. We are all back to normal and just hoping February is a little better.

One of my general goals for 2025 was to start journaling. I spent a few mornings in January journaling. I’m going to journal a bit more in February. I like writing down my thoughts and feelings about how my days are going.

Another goal I had set for 2025 was to declutter and organize each room of my house. Each month I’m choosing a room and focusing on what can be donated and making sure everything has a place. The first room I decluttered and organized was Cooper’s bedroom. I made sure all his clothes fit, cleaned out his closet and organized his bookshelf. I’m very happy I made this a priority this year.

Lastly, Luke and I got to get away the last weekend in January. We are so fortunate to have my parents who are so willing to watch our kids for a few days to let us go on vacation. We spent a few days in Las Vegas with a few of Luke’s family members. It was a great time!

Recap Goals

February Goals

My blogging goals for February are to publish 5 blog posts and send an email every Friday. I also want to respond to comments on the blog within one day.

My reading goals for February are to read about 14 books. I want to reduce my physical TBR so I want to read 5 physical books this month. I also want to complete the February challenge of my monthly reading challenge by reading a book written by a person of color.

Lastly, I chose my bedroom as the room to declutter and organize. I need to go through my closet and donate clothes I will not wear again.

Final Thoughts

If January 2025 is any indication of how the rest of the year is going to be then I think 2025 will be great year! I feel very confident in achieving all my goals I set for this year. Now it’s your turn. How was January for you? Did you accomplishing any of your monthly goals? What’s something you want to work on in February? Let me know in the comments below.

Thanks for reading.
