I’m not sure why, but this year has been one of my most productive years. I swear I’m just crushing my goals left and right. I’m feeling really accomplished, and achieving goals each month makes me more motivated to add more goals. I love the dopamine hit I get from checking off each goal. July was a crazy month but I got a lot of work done for the blog AND read a lot of books!
Below are all the books I read this month, the blog posts I published, how July 2025 went, and what my goals for August are.

What Happened This Month
This month has been long and exhausting month. We experienced a great loss in our family at the end of June and are still trying to get through that. The kids are just young enough that the younger ones don’t understand, but our older boys struggle from time to time. I hope you all take a moment to tell the people in your life that you love them.
It has also been unbearably hot in Illinois, so we have been struggling to stay cool and relax this month. Also, I started my 5K training program for a 5K I’m participating in on August 8th. I’m really looking forward to this race. It’s been hard running in this heat, but I’m starting to enjoy running again. \
July 2025 has been a big month for my family and I’m hoping August cools off a bit.

Goals for August
My blog goals for August are to publish at least 6 blog posts with a book review every Monday, respond to comments on the blog within 24 hours, send a newsletter every Friday, and get more e-mail subscribers.
My reading goals for August are to read at least 13 books, send 4 reviews to NetGalley, read at least 5 physical books, and read a book that fits the category for my 2025 Monthly Reading Challenge. The prompt for July is to read a book set in a country you want to visit one day.
Lastly, I want to start knitting and maybe make a washcloth, declutter and organize my kitchen, and I want to journal 5 times this month.

Final Thoughts
The purpose of this blog post is to hold myself accountable each month by sharing what my goals are for the month and checking in to see where I’m at by the end of the month. I love sharing all the books I’ve read, the blog post I published, and other goals I accomplished in the past month.
