George
George means “one who works the Earth”. There have been three presidents with the name George: George Washington, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush. I mean, is there anything more presidential than our first president, George Washington? One major thing he did while in office was set the term limit and the peaceful transfer of power when he left office. Also, he was a great general and leader of the United States.
John
John means “God is gracious.” Three presidents have had the first name John: John Adams, John Quincy Adams, and John F. Kennedy. John Adams is known as one of the founding fathers and the first vice president. John Quincy Adams is known for helping develop the Monroe Doctrine. In my opinion, John is one of the greatest of presidential names.
James
James means “he who supplants”. Six presidents share the first name James; James Madison, James Monroe, James K. Polk, James Buchannan, James Garfield, and Jimmy Carter. James Madison was one of the founding fathers and was known as the author of the Bill of Rights.
Jackson
Jackson means “son of Jack or John.” Andrew Jackson was known for being the president of the common man. Jackson was known as the founder of the Democratic Party. Jackson is quite a popular name and has many different variations.

Franklin
Franklin means “a freeman or a landholder.” President Franklin Roosevelt was known for bringing the country out of The Great Depression with the New Deal. Also, he holds the record as the longest-serving President. He helped the United States through World War II.
Lincoln
Lincoln means “from the village near the lake”. President Abraham Lincoln is known for abolishing slavery. What an amazing person to be named after! You can use the nickname “Linc” and I think that is adorable.
Grant
Grant means “a tall man”. Ulysses S. Grant was known for being a great general in the Civil War and the Mexican-American War. Also, he created the Department of Justice. Grant is such a great name because it has a cute sound for a baby but also a strong tone for a grown adult.

Theodore
Theodore means “Gift from God”. I’m a HUGE fan of this name (this is who my second child is named for), and I think it’s a great name to bring back. You have the option of nicknames from Ted, Teddy, or Theo. Theodore Roosevelt is known for his conservation of our land. He is the reason why we have so many national parks. Also, he was the first American to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
Reagan
Reagan means “born into royalty”. This name is cute because it is androgynous. Meaning that you can name your son or your daughter Reagan. Ronald Regan is known for “Reganomics,” which was the most serious attempt to change the course of U.S. economic policy since the New Deal.

William
William means “the determined protector”. Four presidents share the first name William; William Henry Harrison, William McKinley, William H. Taft, and Bill Clinton. This name is also great if you want a variety of nickname choices. You can call your child Bill, Will, or even Liam. William Taft was known for accomplishing a great achievement of being President and Chief Justice of the United States.
Jefferson
Jefferson means “Son of Jeffery.” This is an interesting meaning, but Thomas Jefferson was a great president. He is known for being a founding father, writing the Declaration of Independence, making the Louisiana Purchase, and supporting Lewis and Clark’s expedition.
