Synopsis from Amazon
She’s plotting a romcom. He’s playing without a game plan.
But sometimes the best love stories are the ones that don’t follow the script.
Is it too much to ask for a romcom-level romance?
Fran Fairchild doesn’t think so.
After growing up in a loveless home, she is determined to script her own happily-ever-after.
True love is out there. It’s real. And Fran won’t be leaving without it.
But so far, her romcom remakes have been one epic fail after another.
Until one unexpected kiss from a handsome stranger saves her from public humiliation—
Callum Whitaker–professional soccer player and certified romance skeptic–didn’t plan to kiss Fran. Or to spiral into a six-month goal drought. Let’s just say the universe isn’t playing fair.
After a toxic relationship, Callum has decided that love isn’t part of his agenda… while scoring goals on the field is. Only the more he focuses on his game–the worse it gets.
Until Fran.
Yep, quirky, cute little Fran–who Callum is determined NOT to fall for–just might be his lucky charm. That kiss and her schemes are changing his game.
But Fran’s got more than luck on her side–she’s on a mission: Convince Callum that love is not the enemy. And somehow, it’s working. Bit by bit, he’s realizing he does need love in his life.
Or maybe he just needs Fran.

My Review of The Romcom Remake
Thank you to Jen Atkinson for an Advanced Reading Copy of Romcom Remake. This book had me dying laughing from the first page. I loved reading Fran and Callum’s love story.
Fran is sweet and naïve at times, but her goofy antics and knowing that all she wants is to be deeply in love, like the movies, made me fall for her. I loved all the ways she tried to remake her favorite romantic comedy moments. Anytime she came up with an idea, I was all in!
Callum is a little more reserved. He’s a professional soccer player. He keeps everything close to his chest but has a soft spot for Fran. I loved reading him realize he loves Fran. It’s so obvious to the reader, but it takes him a while.
I love all the side characters, especially Rosalie. She’s Fran’s best friend and had her back throughout the whole book. I loved her conversations with Callum. Also, I love how she encouraged Fran’s antics but also tried to remind her that this is real life, not a movie.
This book hit me in my 2000s nostalgia heart. I LOVE romantic comedies, and everyone she mentioned made me want to watch them again. I’m so glad I read this book and enjoyed it throughly.
If you are looking for a sports romance with a closed-door and opposites attract trope, then The Romcom Remake is the book for you!
