Synopsis from Amazon

Meet Adam and Jules.

Married for nearly twenty-five years and stuck in a rut, their future looks, well, boring.

Then Adam stumbles across a box of old mixtapes he and Jules made for each other when they were young and falling in love. He dusts off his vintage stereo, inserts one of the cassettes, presses “Play” …and the unbelievable happens.

With the power to travel back in time, Jules and Adam can recapture the headiness of falling in love. But they soon realize that visiting the past could be as dangerous as it is addictive, because the temptation to change just a few tiny things is irresistible.

As the consequences start to spiral out of control, can they find a way back to their messy and imperfect, yet glorious, real life? Or will they lose each other forever?

You & Me

My Review of You & Me and You & Me and You & Me

First off, let me thank Josie Lloyd, Emlyn Rees, NetGalley, and Putnam for an advanced reading copy of You & Me. This is such an interesting story and a unique premise.

As someone who has been married for a decade, I can understand the appeal of going back in time with my husband and replaying moments. However, as Jules and Adam travel back in time, they start to alter small aspects of their past. The temptation to change certain things would be too strong, and I wouldn’t want to go back in time.

I loved the concept of this book so much, and loved seeing where it was going. At one point, I did beg them to stop going back in time because they just kept messing things up. I loved how one little change changed everything in the present.

One of the reasons I enjoyed reading this book is that both Jules and Adam are flawed people. They have communication issues, and both feel stuck in their marriage. Going back in time provides them with chances to fall back in love, but they end up more messed up. I really enjoyed the different ways their family evolved throughout each change, and I loved the ending.

Lastly, I think this book is great for anyone who feels like their long-term marriage is waning or lacking in some way. This book is thought-provoking and an easy read. You & Me will pull on your heartstrings until the very last page.
