Dolly All The Time by Annabel Monaghan NetGalley Book Review

Sharing is caring!

Dolly All The Time by Annabel Monaghan is a perfect summer romance about a single mom who agrees to fake date a rich man to help her family.

If there’s one thing I can be certain of, it’s that Annabel Monaghan will write an incredible summer romance novel that I’ll devour and love. Dolly All The Time feels like reading a romantic comedy. Dolly is a single mother who comes home for the summer to take care of her father and brother. One day, Stewart offers her an opportunity to make some money to fix her family’s house. All she has to do is pretend to date him for the summer. What transpires is a funny story about two people who help each other grow into their best selves.

Synopsis From Amazon

If they start by pretending, can they end with something real?

Dolly Brick has never met a problem she couldn’t solve. Not when her mom left when she was twelve, and not at thirty-nine when she moves with her son back to Whitfield, Rhode Island, for the summer to keep her dad and brother from losing the family home.

So when she comes across Stewart Whitfield—annoyingly handsome scion of the Whitfield family—with a flat tire and at the wrong end of a very public, very humiliating breakup, it’s in her nature to help. But Stewart’s proposed arrangement ends up being more than either of them bargained for, because as public dinners and high-society benefits turn into sunset boat rides and kisses that hit her bloodstream like a ghost pepper, Dolly starts to feel something more than helpful. She’s never relied on anyone besides herself—can she really start now?

My Review of Dolly All The Time

First off, thank you to Annabel Monaghan, Putnam Publishing, and NetGalley for an advance reading copy of Dolly All The Time.

Boy, do I love an Annabel Monaghan book! This one my favorite by far. Monaghan writes great summer romance books and I love her humor and heart in each book.

Dolly was definitely my favorite character. I love how she just wants to take care of everyone in her life. She’s ready to take care of he son, her father, and her brother. Throughout this book, she finally lets people take care of her, too. I loved her growth and journey in this book.

One of my favorite parts of some fake dating tropes is when you can tell from the start that the couple will end up falling for each other. Stewart and Dolly’s romance feels like a slow-burning one, and once they kiss, it’s game over.

How do I know that I absolutely loved reading this book? I finished it in about two days. I couldn’t put it down and thoroughly enjoyed reading this one.

Dolly All The Time is a perfect summer read if you love fake dating, single mom, Pretty Woman vibes, family drama, and a small town setting.
