When I’m throwing a party I tend to ask people what appetizers they would request. The top three are French onion dip, beer bread, and garlic dip. I absolutely LOVE this garlic dip! I’m a huge fan of garlic so this recipe is basically everything I love; sour cream, garlic, mayonnaise, garlic, parsley, and garlic (of course there’s a bunch of garlic! It’s called garlic dip for Pete’s sake!). I know if I make this dip people will flock to it.

Reasons Why I Love Garlic Dip

  1. It is so simple to make!
  2. It pairs nicely with beer bread or chips.
  3. I can make it the night before and serve it for the party the next day.
  4. It tastes amazing!
  5. Most people enjoy it so there’s not much left at the end of a party.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz of sour cream (one container)
  • 1/4 cup of mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon parsley

I LOVE these containers because they are amazing for storing dips before a party!

You will notice that I don’t have measurements for the garlic. I measure that with my heart. This basically means you need to find out how much garlic you like. I do at least two shakes of the powder and the salt. The parsley is just there for decoration. It kind of looks like plain sour cream without the parsley.

How To Make Garlic Dip

  1. Mix together the sour cream and the mayonnaise.
  2. Add the garlic powder, garlic salt, and minced garlic. Test the taste and add more if you want. There’s no such thing as too much garlic (in my opinion).
  3. Add in the parsley.
  4. Let the dip sit in the fridge for at least two hours.

My appetizer recipes are no different. I prefer ones I can make quickly and serve a lot of people. If you enjoy this recipe or have any questions, let me know in the comments below.
