October 2024 was one for the books! I’m very proud of how much reading and blog work I got done in October. I did a good job of accomplishing my goals for this month. I love setting goals for the month and achieving them. This helps me stay motivated to accomplish my yearly goals. I’m really excited to share how this month went. I hope you enjoy it!

Books I Read In October 2024
I had three goals for my October 2024 reading. One was to read 6 physical books off my TBR list. I only read 5, but I’m okay with that. The second was to read thrillers and mysteries to get all the spooky vibes. I read almost only thrillers and mysteries. The ones that weren’t in those genres were NetGalley review books. Lastly, I wanted to review two NetGalley books this month. I did accomplish this goal, and you can read my reviews.
- Just The Nicest Couple by Mary Kubica
- The Wedding Party by L.R. Jones
- The Sorority Murder by Allison Brennan
- Fun For The Whole Family by Jennifer E. Smith – 5 Stars (Review Here!)
- The Tanglewood Book Shop by Lilac Mills– 4 Stars (Review Here)
- Enchanted to Meet You by Meg Cabot
- October Fest by Jess Lourey
- Not What She Seems by Yasmin Angoe
- Friends With Secrets by Christine Gunderson
- The Other Mrs. by Mary Kubica
- The Coworker by Frieda McFadden
- My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing
- Three Days in June by Anne Tyler
- Along Came A Spider by James Patterson
- The Witches of Santo Stefano by Wendy Webb
My top book of October 2024 was My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing. It is a domestic thriller that will have you wondering if you know the person you married.
October 2024 Blog Posts I Published
I published 6 blog posts this month, and I’m very proud of myself for doing this. This is the most blog post I published in one month! One of my goals for October 2024 was to publish 5 blog posts and I accomplished that. My second blog goal was to respond to comments on the blog quickly. Well, I sucked at this. I’m a horrible responder in general so I struggle with this. But I’m working on it! My last goal was to increase my email subscribers. I did gain 8 new subscribers. This might not sound like a lot BUT I lost all my subscribers a few months ago so any number helps. Here are the 6 blog posts I published this month:
- September 2024 Goals Recap: A Busy Month Filled With Fun!
- Loaded Baked Potato Soup: A Delicious and Easy Crockpot Recipe
- NetGalley Book Review: The Tanglewood Bookshop by Lilac Mills
- A Fun and Easy Grateful Turkey Craft for Kids!
- Broccoli Chicken Pasta Bake: An Easy Delicious Italian Recipe
- NetGalley Book Review: Fun for the Whole Family
Random Happenings in October
This is a new section to my recaps because while I realized I keep sharing all my goals stuff, maybe you want to hear about how life is going for me during each month. October 2024 was filled with a lot of changes to our house. We got solar panels installed, we cut down some trees, and we poured concrete for our backyard patio. It’s awesome when things you’ve been dreaming about start to come true.
We also had some fun this month with family members who visited, the kids went away for a weekend to my parents’ house (that was nice), we got to spend time with friends, and we went trick-or-treating with family. One thing we got to do this month was go on a ghost tour of an old mansion in Peoria, IL. It was cool and full of amazing artifacts. I have attached a link to the mansion, they are doing an amazing home tour for the Holidays. November Goals
Since we are officially in a new month I’m going to share my goals for November. I have two reading goals for November. First, I’m going to read 3 more books to achieve my reading challenge of reading 125 books this year. My second goal is to review three books for NetGalley. I’m going to take it a little bit easier this month when it comes to reading.
My blog goals for November are to publish 6 blog posts, respond quickly to comments on the blog (at least within the same week), and increase my email subscribers. You can do so below or at the bottom of this page if you aren’t subscribed to my blog. If you subscribe you will get weekly updates on blog posts every Friday.
Final Thoughts
October 2024 was a month filled with fun and spooky vibes. I think reading all those thrillers and mysteries wasn’t good for my overactive imagination but I enjoyed them. Also, I hope you had a great October! I love writing down and sharing my goals with all of you because I feel like it makes me more accountable.
