“You made a registry? This is your third kid! Why?” This was my Dad’s response when I told him I made a registry for this baby. It’s the reaction I normally get because people assume I want other people to buy things off my registry. That’s not the case! There are so many benefits to register to Target and many new things you need with each baby. I don’t expect anyone to buy things off my registry, it’s mostly for me.
Benefits of Registering To Target for each Baby
I don’t know about most of you but I LOVE Target! They have everything you need! Diapers, baby food, nursery furniture, clothes, and so much more. I usually shop there once a month (since COVID) and get most of our essentials. The main reason why I register for Target is because 8 weeks from your due date Target will send you a completion coupon. A completion coupon is a certain percent (I think %15) off of everything left on your registry. It can be used one time in the store and one time online. This alone is worth registering all the things you were going to buy ANYWAY but with a discount.
Also sometimes they will give you coupons to things like formula, diapers, and outfits around your baby’s due date. They have even sent coupons to me around JT and Ted’s first birthday. While I’m not the biggest coupon collector I do think that is more than enough reason to register! The last thing you will receive is a free welcome gift from Target. You need to go to the costumer service desk at Target to get it.
What’s on my Registry?
I mostly keep the things on my registry under $100 and to essentials I need. Since I’m having a girl this time I added some girl-based toys. I DON’T add outfits to the registry because I find it to be a waste. Here’s a list of the things I’ve added to my registry for every pregnancy:
- Diapers and Wipes – This is a must because you KNOW you’re going to need diapers and in case anyone sees your registry they will see what kind of diapers and wipes you prefer.
- New Bottles – With each baby you should get new bottles. I have to because I don’t like the thought of the milk being in there. Its just nice to know you have new clean bottles. Don’t forget to sanitize them!
- Formula – I mostly breastfeed but I do supplement with formula. Luke loves feeding the babies at night so usually the bedtime bottle is formula. That being said, I add it to the registry because I KNOW I’m going to use it.
- Diaper Pail Bags – Again I know I’m going to use them and I’ll probably buy two boxes since we have a discount.
- Shampoo, body wash, and diaper rash cream – The theme for most of the stuff I add is “do I know that I’ll use it for sure?” if the answer is “yes” it goes on the registry.

Target is my life saver! I used it for my wedding registry and will definitely use it for my baby one!
It’s honestly my favorite place to register! The benefits and perks alone are worth it.
This is amazing! Need to take advantage of deals while we can. Thanks for the tips and tricks
Exactly! Also if you use your Target Redcard you can get an extra 5% off. So you’ll be saving 20% on things you were going to buy anyway!
This is helpful since my friend doesn’t have a registry!
Yes everything on this list is essential! So if your friend doesn’t have a registry this is stuff she will definitely need.
Thanks for the idea. You sure streamlined the process. Thinking of trying Target next time 🤠.
Thanks! I definitely think it’s worth it!
Great idea! Will Save this til I get pregnant 😃
Even though I am not a mom, I was curious to know what the reason for registering for every pregnancy and what a smart idea! If I ever do become a mom, I will remember this advice. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
