Synopsis From Amazon

Dahlia Delaney’s marriage just imploded, her friend group picked a side (not hers), and her fancy San Francisco life now fits into a single suitcase. Armed with a broken heart, a freelance marketing gig, and one blurry childhood memory of her abuela’s garden, she impulsively hops on a flight to Valencia, Spain, to reconnect with distant family—and maybe herself.

But Valencia isn’t just sunny plazas and sangria. There’s her chaotic new job at a quirky expat bar, a family she barely knows but who embrace her like she’s always belonged, and a brooding American bar owner who’s frustratingly attractive and entirely too familiar.

As Dahlia stumbles through language mishaps, clashing cultures, and late-night paella with new friends, she begins to realize that the fresh start she came for might turn into something even better—if she can let go of the life she planned and embrace the one unfolding around her.

Perfect for anyone who’s ever dreamed of starting over somewhere with better wine, The Valencia Expat Club is a sparkling, laugh-out-loud romantic escape about second chances, delicious detours, and finding home where you least expect it.

My Review Of The Valencia Expat Club

First off, thank you to June Patrick, Atria Books, and NetGalley for an advanced reading copy of The Valencia Expat Club. It was such a fun read to enjoy by the pool.

I have never traveled to Valencia, but thanks to June Patrick’s beautiful descriptions, I could see the locations in my mind. June writes so vividly and with such flair. I can’t wait to read another of her books. Not only does June write beautiful scenes, but she also writes incredible characters.

Dahlia is one of those characters who won’t take things lying down. I love how she decided to go back to Valencia to meet her mother’s family and just left. There’s something so brave about leaving your world behind to create a new life. I just loved her journey of standing up for herself, especially with her ex.

Another character I really enjoyed was Liam. He is the owner of the Valencia Expat Club and someone from Dahlia’s past. There’s a definite sparks-flying moment between them. The whole time, you are just waiting for them to get together. I just loved their little grumpy/sunshine vibes.

This book is perfect for anyone who wants to go on a vacation in a book. You can just lounge on a chair by the pool and pretend you traveled to Spain. This book is full of self-discovery and humor. I loved reading about Dahlia’s journey to Valencia. Also, it’s great for anyone who likes books with found family and an Eat, Pray, Love vibe.
