I would love to tell you all that I found this delicious and simple chicken parmesan recipe on my own, but then I’d be a liar. One night Luke sent me a video of a “Lazy Dinner” and begged me to make the recipe. I’ve made it a few times and it’s amazing every time! With how simple this recipe is, I can’t believe I have never made chicken parmesan before.

I love this recipe for three main reasons. First, to make the breaded chicken you use a zip lock bag and then cook it on tin foil, which means minimal cleanup. Second, this is the perfect recipe to switch up your pasta night. Third, my whole family loves this chicken parmesan recipe and will eat the whole thing without complaints!

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Add chicken and 1 egg to a gallon-sized ziplock bag. Smush the egg and chicken together in the bag.
  3. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and cayenne pepper to the bag and mix well.
  4. Add the breadcrumbs and mix everything in the bag once more.
  5. Cover a baking sheet with tin foil and spray with cooking spray. Place chicken on foil and cover open spots on the chicken with the leftover breadcrumbs in the bag.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes.
  7. Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Cover chicken with pasta sauce (use as much or as little as you like), cover in mozzarella cheese, and cover in parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake in the oven for another 15 minutes.
  9. Remove from oven and serve!
