It’s almost the end of the year and I know we are all busy with Christmas but soon it’ll be time to think about the New Year. Now, I’m not the biggest fan of New Year’s resolutions and all that jazz but I believe in making goals for each year. This year I decided to create a 2024 goals worksheet that you can print off AND I made a monthly goal planner that you can print off too!
In this blog post, I will explain to you why I think you should create 2024 goals, what type of goals you should create, and some ideas for different goals.
By recording your dreams and goals on paper, you set in motion the process of becoming the person you most want to be.

Why Should You Make 2024 Goals?
A few years ago I shared a blog post about all the goals I was going to CRUSH in 2022. Someone asked me why I was making goals and not using a “word of the year”. It was a really good question, but for me, I really enjoy making goals for the year. I love setting “big” goals for the year and breaking them down into manageable steps that I can achieve each month. A life with goals just makes sense to me.
Last, year I did use a word of the year and it was really interesting. I still had my yearly goals and my monthly goals. I will share with all of you my word for 2023 and I’ll end up choosing a word for 2024 in the coming weeks.
The main reason you should create 2024 goals is because goals allow you to create a vision of how you want your life to be. Maybe you want to have a more productive morning with your children instead of feeling like you are already behind the ball when you wake up. If you are feeling like you have no time in the morning because you are waking up with your children (instead of before them) then maybe a goal of yours could be creating a morning routine. Check out my blog post about how I created a morning routine that works for me: Why My Mornings Don’t Suck Anymore!
You also need to make sure you create S.M.A.R.T. 2024 goals.
What are S.M.A.R.T 2024 Goals?
S.M.A.R.T. goals are goals that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevent, and Time-Bound. If you want to set a goal it needs to be specific to you as a person, it needs to be measurable, it needs to be reasonable enough that you can achieve the goal, it should be realistic and reasonable for you, and you need to set a timeframe. You also want to figure out your “Why”. Why are you hoping to accomplish this goal in 2024? This will really help you to narrow down your goals. You should create about 3-5 S.M.A.R.T. goals.

My Goals for Next Year
I’m very excited for the upcoming year and I’m hoping it’s a good one that is kind to all of us. I’ve created 4 goals for 2024 that I’m going to share with all of you. Throughout the year 2024, I’ll be checking in with these goals and letting you know how they are going. I hope you draw some inspiration from my choices.
My first goal is to read 125 books in 2024. In 2023 I read about 110 books (this includes audiobooks) and I’m hoping to challenge myself a little bit more next year. I will achieve this goal by reading about 11 books a month. Also, I will spend time reading before bed (instead of scrolling Instagram), reading in the mornings, and listening to audiobooks while cleaning my house.
My second goal is to publish 27 blog posts in 2024. I’m sure you are wondering how I got to that number. Well, my goal is to publish a blog post every other Wednesday and there will be 54 Wednesdays in 2024. If you divide that by two you get 27! The steps I’m taking to achieve those goals is to set aside time daily to work on my blog. I will also create a content planner for all my blog posts.
My Personal Goals
My third goal is to schedule all my doctor’s appointments for the year and get a check-up. So I’m a little ashamed of this but I haven’t been to a regular doctor for a check-up YEARS! My goal in 2024 is to find a GP doctor, get an appointment, and also get an appointment with a dermatologist. I know how bad it is that I haven’t been you don’t have to tell me! I’m working on it this year!
My fourth goal of 2024 is to plan a memorable family vacation. Luke and I have been talking about going on a family vacation for years and just haven’t done it yet. We will have to sit and discuss where we want to go but I know we have a few places in mind. I’m very excited for this goal!
Lastly, my fifth goal of 2024 is to create a garden in my backyard. This was my goal a few years ago and it didn’t work out. I wasn’t completely motivated but this year it’s something I really want to achieve. So, if you have any helpful garden tips, know a garden blogger, or a garden podcast I can listen to; let me know!
