Wild Hit by Mari Loyal is a closed-door sports romance with some marriage of convenience. It’s a cute love story to warm your heart.
Every once in a while, I receive an ARC that I can’t put down because I’m enjoying it too much. That’s how I felt about Wild Hit! This book is a closed-door sports romance that will inspire you to be your true self. I loved the relationship between the two main characters and I loved reading about them falling in love. This book is great for anyone who loves baseball and closed-door romances.

Synopsis from Amazon
None of Audrey’s friends know that she’s the daughter of the Orlando Wild’s owner, or that she made a costly deal with her dad to protect her friends from getting fired for dating players in the team. But now her controlling father has come to collect on her side of the bargain.
Audrey must marry in order to receive her inheritance, or her friends can kiss the team bye bye.
Enter Miguel, the hottest acquisition the team has ever made. The All-Star and record breaking slugger is new in town and his daughter, Marty, hasn’t forgiven him for the move. He did it for her, but no matter what he does, he’s always reminded that being a single dad is his most important and toughest job.
Case in point: Marty can’t join her new school’s mom and daughter tradition, because she doesn’t have a mom.
Marty’s seen something about carpeting the diem so she comes up with a great idea. Maybe Miguel and Audrey should just get married for convenience. The plan will be a Wild Hit, right?

My Review of Wild Hit
Thank you to the publisher and Mari Loyal for this Advanced Reading Copy of Wild Hit. I loved reading Audrey and Miguel’s love story.
First off, let me just say that it’s rare for me to enjoy a book that has a marriage of convenience. So, going into this book, my expectations were not high. BUT Wild Hit is one of the best books I’ve read that includes a marriage of convenience. I really believed that they felt they had to get married even though they didn’t know each other.
There were many aspects of this book that I liked. I love Marty because she acted her age. Additionally, she thoroughly enjoyed having Audrey in her life. I loved the sports romance aspect. Apparently, I’m a huge fan of this genre, and I didn’t even know it! Lastly, I really liked the way Miguel respected every boundary Audrey set. It was refreshing to read about a man who respects women (I have been reading A LOT of thrillers lately).
Some of the tropes in this book include: marriage of convenience, “touch her and die” scene (swoon), sports romance, found family, black cat and golden retriever, closed-door, and series book.
This is the third book, but I haven’t read the first two. I truly believe you can read this book without having to read the other two. BUT you will know who the characters end up with in the first two if you read this one first.
Overall, I think this book is great if you are looking for a closed-door romance, featuring baseball, and has some pretty funny moments. It’s perfect for playoff season when you really want more baseball in your life! I hope you enjoy Wild Hit as much as I did!
