Hello, 2022! Can you believe the year is 2022?! It doesn’t seem real. But here we are and now it’s time for me to list all my 2022 goals. Now this year I’m doing things a little bit differently than the years before. This year I broke my goals down into categories, rather than just having the top ones I mention with you. So continue reading to see all the goals I’m going to work on for 2022!

Blog Goals

I’ve decided to put my blog goals first because this year I really want to focus on being consistent with my blog posts. No more posting when I feel like it! This year I will post every other week (maybe more!). I will set aside time to work on my blog posts, come up with ideas, try new recipes for the blog, and let you guys in my world a little bit more. This year I plan on writing 24 blog posts. I have plenty of ideas and can’t wait to share them all with you!

Here’s the planner I use to keep myself organized:

Reading Goals

Last year I set a goal to read 52 books in 2021. I, sadly, didn’t accomplish that goal (I did read 48! Whoot! Whoot!) but I realized that by December I was scrambling to finish books. The truth was I wasn’t really enjoying them. I love to read and so instead of setting a total book amount I have decided to do some “challenges”.

Challenge number one: Read Anna Karenina. The copy I have of this book is 894 pages long. I’ve already started it and I’m completely enthralled by it. I’ve seen the movie so I have a general sense of the characters and how the story goes. Which I think is really helpful. I’m so excited to read this book!

Challenge number two: Read at least one book a month that isn’t a fiction novel. This year I want to read outside my comfort zone. I will still read fiction novels but I want to focus on reading biographies, memoirs, self-help books, and even parenting books.

Challenge number three: Read a book from a different genre each month. For each month of 2022, I have a different genre of book I must finish. For example, in January I will read a biography (yes this will also help me accomplish my challenge two book for January!) and in February I will read a romance novel. I’m feeling really good about this challenge because, again, I want to read outside my comfort zone and this challenge will help me do just that.

Challenge number four: Read one book a month that is recommended by a friend. I have so many friends who recommend books for me to read but I usually forget! This year I’ve asked a few friends to send me a book they recommend everyone read. Each month I’ll choose one of the books to read and hopefully, by the end of 2022, I’ll have read 12 books that I never would have read!

Self-Care Goals

As a mom of three (almost four) children, I feel like sometimes I put my self-care at the bottom of my to-do list. I’m not saying that I’m going to change that overnight. But I’m going to try to do other things instead of watching Netflix and relaxing on the couch (if you need me past 8 pm that’s where I’ll be!). This year I’m going to try meditating. I read an article about the benefits of meditating while pregnant and I feel like it’s something I want to try.

I’m also going to have “Me Days” once a month. Me Day is a day away from the kids and I can do whatever I want. No this is not the time to run errands. It’s time for myself! I will make plans with friends, go relax in a coffee shop, or do whatever I want! Lastly, I’m going to start running again once Baby Number 4 is out. I really enjoyed the time to myself.

My 2022 Goals!

Home Goals

I know some of you who know me too well might be rolling your eyes when I say this, but this year I’m going to get my house more organized. How am I going to do that? Great question! I have decided to break my house into 12 sections and each month I’m going to deep clean and organize one section/room. Here is my list of rooms/sections (The order goes from North to South in my house. Not by what room each month):

  1. Play Room
  2. Guest Bathroom
  3. Laundry/ Entryway
  4. Kitchen
  5. Living Room
  6. Dining Area
  7. Vivian’s Room
  8. Boys’ Room
  9. Kids’ Bathroom
  10. Our Room
  11. Our Bathroom
  12. Basment

2022 is going to be the year my house is organized!

Final Thoughts

Whew! Now that I’ve laid out all my goals for this year it seems like a lot. It is a lot but what’s the point of setting goals if you aren’t going to push yourself, right? Now it’s your turn. Tell me what are your goals? What are you hoping to accomplish in 2022? Take some time to write your goals in the comments. I can’t wait to hear them!

Thanks for reading,

Kel

  1. Wow! You have big goals for the year! This is motivating to me to set and write some goals for the year. I like the idea of reading some books out of my usual genres.
