So apparently I’m OBSESSED with broccoli! A good majority of my recipe posts include broccoli and I’ll admit I’m a sucker for some broccoli. Also, my boys love cooked broccoli so anytime I get a chance sneak this healthy vegetable onto their plates I do! This dish, in particular, is one of my favorite side dishes because it is simple, delicious, and not at all time-consuming. This parmesan garlic broccoli only takes about 5 minutes to cook. This is the perfect side dish recipe for when you feel like you don’t have enough time to whip up a fancy side dish. Plus, the Instant Pot keeps the broccoli from getting mushy and stays a little crispy.

Parmesan Garlic Broccoli Ingredients
- A Head of Broccoli
- About 1/4 cup of Shredded Parmesan (Grated works too!)
- Garlic Salt
- Water
Here is the Instant Pot I use and love:
Directions
- Chop the broccoli head in florets.
- Place the steamer basket in the your Instant Pot and place the broccoli in the steamer basket.
- Pour water over the broccoli, just enough to cover the bottom of the Instant Pot but make sure it doesn’t reach the bottom of the steamer basket.
- Place the lid on the Instant Pot and set the vavlue to sealing.
- Cook on high pressure for 0 minutes (yes 0 minutes!)
- After about 5 minutes your Instant Pot should beep letting you know that it is at high pressure. Release the vavlue and remove lid.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the broccoli florets and put them into a bowl.
- Add the parmesan cheese and the garlic salt to taste.
- Enjoy!
If you don’t have a steamer basket for your Instant Pot, check out this one:
Final Thoughts
This Instant Pot parmesan garlic broccoli recipe is one that will blow you away by how simple it is to make. You will love how firm the steamed broccoli comes out in your instant pot. If you are looking for a healthy side dish to go with your meal that takes very little time to make, then you should definitely try this recipe. My children loved it and so did I!

Yes! Fingers crossed! Maybe try letting your kids put the cheese on and they when it’s on their plate. Then they can feel like it’s “their” broccoli and maybe they will like it!
