It’s the end of summer fun, and I’m wrapping up my August 2026 blogging and reading goals. Plus, I’m sharing my goals for September.
August 2026 was filled with enjoying the last days before school starts and trying to get back into the routine of the school season. I finally feel like I’m getting back on track. In the summer, I let myself take a little break from consistently blogging. But now I’m back and ready to crush my goals!
In this post, I’ll share all the blog posts I published and the books I read in August 2026. Plus, I included my goals for September.

Blog Posts I Published in August 2026
My blogging goals for August 2026 were to get back into a routine of posting a book review every Monday, a blog post every Wednesday, and sending a newsletter every Friday. I accomplished this goal, and I’m very happy with the fact that I’m back into my blogging routine. I hope this continues in the next month. Here are the posts I published this month:
- That Night by Gillian McAllister Book Review

- 20 Easy Back-to-School Dinner Recipes For Busy Nights
- A Study in Sparkling by Jodi McAlister Book Review
The most-viewed blog post in August was “The BEST Kid Shows That Parents Don’t Need To Worry About.” I love that parents keep checking out this post to find fun, entertaining kids’ shows they can let their children watch.

I had three reading goals for August 2026. Those goals were to read at least 15 books, read 5 physical books, and submit 4 reviews to NetGalley. I accomplished two of those three goals. The one I didn’t accomplish was to read 5 physical books. I only read 4. Here are the books I read this month:

My top book of August was Headlights by CJ Leede. It’s a creepy thriller with a supernatural vibe that will stay with you after you finish. It’s not something I would typically read, but it was gifted to me in a book box, and I gave it a try. I loved this book! It’s a great book to add to your October TBR.

Goals for September
My blogging goals for September are to publish 9 blog posts, send a newsletter every Friday, get my views and visitors up, and earn more email subscribers.
My reading goals for September are to read 15 books, with 5 being physical books, send 5 reviews to NetGalley, read books for my book clubs, and read a “banned” book for my monthly reading challenge.
If you are interested in reading more about my monthly reading challenge, check out the blog post: 2026 Monthly Reading Challenge (+FREE Printables)
The random goals I have for September are to celebrate all the September birthdays, have a great vacation in Disney World, deep clean and organize my dining room, and start my crocheting project.
Final Thoughts
August 2026 felt like riding a bicycle after not riding for a long time. It took me a second to get back into the routine of blogging. I’m hoping that by the end of next month, it will feel like second nature to be writing and publishing blog posts. Now, how was your August? Are you starting to feel like you’re back in the school season routine? What are your goals for September? Let me know in the comments below. I love hearing from all of you and supporting your monthly goals.
Thanks for reading,
Kel

I don’t have kids, so summer isn’t as out of routine for me as it is for most people. We did travel a few times this summer, so it was harder to stay on top of writing, but we made some fun memories! I am looking forward to cooler weather, reading more this month, and getting my home ready for cozy season.
