Do you call them tortellini or ravs? I call them tortellini but Luke, and a lot of people in central Illinois, call them ravs. It was a little confusing when we first started dating but now I’m used to it. Baked tortellini is one of Luke’s favorite meals to order at Italian restaurants and with COVID going on we aren’t eating out as much. So I thought I would try to make it at home and it turned out AMAZING!
Ingredients for Baked Tortellini
- 1 pound of ground beef
- 20 oz frozen tortellini (cheese or beef. We did beef)
- 24 oz of pasta sauce (one jar)
- 8 oz of cream cheese (cubed)
- about 2 cups of mozzarella
- 1/2 cup of parmesan
- 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the tortellini according to the instructions on the package and set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Drain the beef, stir in the pasta sauce and cream cheese. Simmer for a few minutes and stir occasionally until the sauced is mixed well together.
- Pour tortellini in the bottom of a 9X13 baking dish, pour sauce mixture over, and sprinkle the mozzarella and parmesan on top.
- Bake uncovered on the center rack for 20 minutes. Switch oven to broil and continue cooking for an additional 3 minutes.
- ENJOY!
