Guys my favorite meal of all time is steak and potatoes! Any kind of potatoes will do; mashed, baked, French fries, American fries, wedges, red potatoes or sweet potatoes. I love them all. My husband, on the other hand, is not the biggest potato fan. So one of my goals has been to find a potato recipe he enjoys so we can have a great dinner. Well, recently I found the perfect (and easy) steak and potato combo and Luke loves it!

First, the Steak!

As stated before, I love steak! But since it’s not exactly grill season yet I tried to find a new steak recipe to make inside. Introducing the easy and quick steak bites recipe. Here are the ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 Lbs. Sirloin Steak (Cubed)
  • 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 2 tsp. Garlic (Minced)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp. Parsley (Optional)

Instructions (You may need to cook the steak in batches):

  1. Heat olive oil in large pan over high heat.
  2. Season steak with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook steak in pan for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add butter and garlic to pan.
  5. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes more.
  6. Sprinkle parsley and serve.
The steak bites I made a few weeks ago.

See? Pretty simple right? It’s also very quick which is good for me right now because my 18 month old is getting his molars and likes to be held.

Now the Potatoes

I’ve chosen a very simple red potato recipe. I’ve made it twice now and both times it got rave reviews! Here are the ingredients:

  • 2 Pounds of red potatoes (cut in halves)
  • 1 envelope of dry onion mix
  • 1/3 cup of olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees
  2. In a large plastic bag, combine the soup mix, red potatoes, and olive oil. Close bag and shake until potatoes are covered.
  3. pour potatoes in medium baking dish; bake for 40 minutes stirring occasionally. (I stirred every 10 minutes)

Final Thoughts

This is the perfect dinner combo because making both of these two recipes at the same time was super easy! You could also make rolls or green beans to go with it. We did green beans the other night and everyone enjoyed it. You could also do the steak bites with some mashed potatoes. We did that the first time I made the bites and that also received rave reviews. Honestly,
The number one thing I love about both of these recipes is that the ingredient list is pretty short. I hope you take a chance and make it sometime! Send me pictures of your steak bites and red potatoes!
