HEY LOOK MA I MADE IT! This song is blasting from our speakers in the kitchen this early Monday morning while JT scream sings the chorus. I can relate to that line right about now! I made it! I’m in the third trimester of this pregnancy and, while I’m breathing a sigh of relief that the end is near, I’m also freaking out because the end is NEAR! I have less than 12 weeks to complete all the things on my “To Do Before Baby Number 3” list. Deep breath in and a deep breath out.
Now that my mini freak out is over, I thought it would be an interesting post to update you on my pregnancy. I haven’t seen a lot of people this pregnancy because of COVID and so I thought, for anyone interested, here are the answers to the most popular questions I’ve been asked recently.
How I’m Feeling this Pregnancy?
This seems to be the number one question that people ask me and so I will answer this one first. I feel pretty good! The first 14 weeks were long, exhausting, and kicked my butt but my second trimester was kind of easy. I have been experiencing sciatica pain, especially after a long day of doing stuff around the house. Plus, my acid reflux is here which makes me think this baby will come out with a head full of hair like JT.
Cravings?
Mostly, I’ve been craving sweet things! I’m not a big candy person but now I’ll devour an entire box of candy. I’m really into sour gummy worms and Reese’s. I’ve also started eating A LOT more ice cream than I normally do. A milkshake always sounds amazing and I’ll order a donut with my DD coffee some afternoons. Don’t tell the boys but I have a secret stash of mini frosted donuts in the kitchen!
This is the EXACT thing I ordered on amazon about a month ago:
Is this Pregnancy any Different from my Last two?
It’s different because with this pregnancy I was so much more tired than I was with my other two. A big factor in that could be that I was keeping up with two kids. Also, the nausea was so bad! It lasted until I was about 14 weeks along and seemed to be at its worst at dinner time. The boys survived on bland dinners or quick meals because I had to hold my breath to make their food. Thank God for hotdogs! I think I threw up a total of 5 times but I was constantly gagging.
Also, this baby is a mover and a shaker! She’s got places to be and she loves moving all over the place. At every ultrasound, the tech commented on how she’s not going to be swaddled because she’s flapping her arms and kicking her legs. I just joke that she’s ready to play with her brothers! I don’t recall the boys being this active but Luke says I said Ted was a big mover too.
Did I have a feeling the baby was a girl?
If I’m being honest I thought I was having a girl from the start. The Chinese calendar predicted a girl (it was right with JT and Ted), the baby was implanted on my left side and I know the boys implanted on the right (not that I think that matters in gender determination), and I was more nauseous than my other two pregnancies. There was a HUGE part of me that thought I was being crazy and making this stuff up to convince myself that I was having a girl. I fully expected the ultrasound tech to tell me it was a boy. Instead my gut was correct and we are having a girl!
Baby Names?
I love baby names! Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you that I have running lists of baby names. Guys, for some reason I’m having a difficult time finalizing or even narrowing down this girl’s name. If she was a boy her name would be set in stone. I do have about 4 names that have continued to make their way back onto my top names or has been on it the whole time. It’s just harder this time and I’m just waiting for a sign/dream about the name I should choose.

Final Thoughts
Overall I feel very lucky that I have relatively smooth pregnancies. No real complaints beside the sciatica pain and acid reflux. I’m hoping this continues into this last trimester. Also my gut is telling me she will be coming early but I thought that with JT and Ted and they were right around their due dates. You never know! I love reading your musings about pregnancy! Makes me reminisce about mine… 2 boys and a girl! Just like you!
Aww you’re right at the home stretch! Good luck mama
I loved Reese’s when I was pregnant! I’m ashamed to say that I used to eat entire king size bags by myself lol I had to learn to ween myself off of the junk, especially after I stopped breastfeeding. Good luck with your pregnancy girl!
